@Shikhin - the gurudwara dome design has is a derivation from the domes of later Mughal period. Depending on which period you are looking at, the domes can be broadly categorized into:
1. Less than hemispherical - flat looking cupolas from Lodi and Tughlaq Period e.g. Begumpur Mosque, Khirki Masjid, tombs in Lodi Gardens.
2. Little more than hemispherical - early and middle Mughal period e.g. Jama Masjid
3. Onion shaped or almost spheres - late Mughal period e.g. Safdarjung tomb and mosque, Moti Masjid
To me, the dome looks a lot like it belongs to a gurdwara rather than a masjid. The meridians are farther apart as one would expect in a gurdwara.
